Micromoment Card Deck

To prepare the future generation of students, this app hopes to promote problem-solving skills that will allow them to think critically about projects and always seek out ways to improve.

What would you consider to be the most essential aspect of being an engineer? One might say it is having a high level of technical ability, as it is the most directly related to their job. However, according to Richard Kern, it turns out to be having a greater understanding of what drives a project. Knowing what questions to ask and where to find improvements is key to becoming a better engineer.

In line with this initiative, our team is developing a teacher-facing mobile app to support users in organizing 30-minute in-class activities called “micromoments.” The app will surface a catalog of 25 activities on virtual cards, providing details on each for teachers to quickly grasp relevant context and organize the described micromoment.

The current full list of micromoments is available here.

Additionally, the activity catalog will be continuously improving. Designated project faculty coordinators will be able to edit existing activities and add new ones based on feedback provided by teachers at the end of each activity.

This website will detail our progress throughout project development.
