Handoff Plan

Handoff Document:

  • Technical Description: This project uses key technologies including React and motion for frontend, Node.js for the backend.
  • Gitlab Repository: The client can clone the code from their Gitlab repository. The team next semester can create a new branch within the repository work on the code once given access to Gitlab by the client.
  • Installation Links and Instructions: Follow the instructions in the README file for a step by step guide on obtaining and setting up the system. We will create a new overview document as we found the client’s README to have deprecated libraries and incomplete instructions.
  • AWS: AWS is currently used to host the Shift Overflow app. The cost is currently being paid by Kris Jordan, but ideally we would like to change it to Carolina Cloud Apps which will be provided by University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
  • FAQs: The team will create overview document with some questions and concerns we faced while working on this project.
  • Running the App: Currently after our changes, we are able to run a local build, however due to deprecated libraries and missing API calls and inaccessible database, users are unable to login into the app. This situation has been discussed with clients and they will decide if the project is still worth working on. As per us, it might be easier to create a new app from the ground up.
  • Developer Information: We will provide the developer contact information and availability in case the client needs to contact us in the future.
