We are currently in possession of an extant scheduling software solution, originally developed by a group of students under the guidance of Kris Jordan some time ago, as evidenced by its historical documentation (accessible here). This web-based platform serves a pivotal role in overseeing the allocation of work hours and catering to the preferences of numerous Laboratory Assistants (LAs), essential for the effective instruction of COMP 110.
Regrettably, this software has been left without proper maintenance and has consequently lost some of its functionality and efficiency over time. The primary objective of this revitalization effort is to ensure that the software seamlessly integrates manager-provided shift schedules, employee availability information, and automatically generates optimal work schedules for the LAs.
