The Continental Origins and Genetic Epidemiology Network (COGENT) Kidney Consortium was established in 2014 to undertake trans-ethnic meta-analysis of GWASs of kidney traits in diverse populations. The main goal of the COGENT-Kidney Consortium is to increase representation of populations that have not been well-characterized for genetic risk, particularly ethnic subgroups at high risk of chronic kidney disease.
