Here is our 2024 Climate Action Day Petition that asks UNC to 1) End the burning of coal and expedite its carbon neutral date to 2035 and end fossil fuel use by 2040, 2) Accelerate the implementation of the Climate Action Plan with increased reporting transparency, and 3) Elevate sustainability as a top priority via a statement from the Chancellor and UNC administration. We received over 400 signatures on this petition from the UNC student body and look forward to working to implement these action items.

Here is our resolution to the Graduate and Professional Student Government to request a transition away from fossil fuels and the cogeneration plant, encouraging a coal exit date of 2025, and support development of alternative energy sources.
