CHAPEL HILL, N.C. — North Carolina State Treasurer Dale Folwell announced that he will be running for Governor in 2024 last week.
Folwell will likely have to beat Lieutenant Governor Mark Robinson to win the Republican nomination. Robinson is expected to announce his run at a rally on April 22nd.
State Attorney General Josh Stein announced his run earlier this year, and is so far the only Democrat to enter the race. Governor Roy Cooper is prohibited by the state constitution from running for a third term.
