CHAPEL HILL, N.C. — Late last Wednesday a lab building at the UNC School of Medicine caught on fire causing severe smoke and water damage to multiple floors. The Chapel Hill fire department arrived at Marsico Hall shortly before 11 pm to the report of a structure fire.

Two crews were at the scene to extinguish the flames that could not be reached by the sprinklers. Thankfully, no one was injured, and the UNC-Chapel Hill environment, health and safety department is still investigating the cause of the fire.
