CHAPEL HILL, N.C. — The School of Government’s Anita Brown-Graham is giving back in a big way.
Brown-Graham is spearheading the Carolina Across 100 program to help the state deal with the economic and educational impacts of COVID-19. The initiative will bring together the university and local leaders from the state’s 100 counties to help address the remaining challenges from the pandemic. Educational disruptions, employment instability and loss of small business are among the issues the initiative plans to address.
The five-year program began in 2022. It is a part of ncIMPACT, a statewide initiative to help local communities use data and evidence to improve conditions and inform decision-making.
Brown-Graham has received a number of special recognitions for her work. In 2013, the Obama administration named her a Champion of Change. The Triangle Business Journal awarded her the inaugural 2021 Andrea Harris Trailblazer Award. This year, Brown-Graham UNC General Alumni Association Faculty Service Award.
