CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – The town of Chapel Hill opened its new traffic garden at the Homestead Aquatic Center parking lot on Feb. 11.

Traffic Gardens are small replicas of real streets networks designed to teach children and adults how to safely navigate roads.

Community members can use the space to practice walking, bicycling, and “driving.”

The traffic garden will be open to the public year-round from dawn until dusk.
