CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Police Department has issued a warning to scooter owners on campus after a string of electric scooter thefts were reported.

In an Alert Carolina message sent out on February 3rd, UNC Police reported three incidents of scooter theft that occurred within seven days. The thefts took place at various locations across the campus, but police have not ruled out the possibility of them being related.

Scooter owners are advised to take precautions by locking up their vehicles and to register their scooters at https://move.unc.edu/parking/motorcycle-scooter/. This will assist the police in tracking down the stolen scooters and to ensure that they are returned to their rightful owners.

Scooter owners are encouraged to report any suspicious activity to the police and to provide as much information as possible about the incident.
