CHAPEL HILL, NC – Homecoming weekend is almost here and several students are in the running to become UNC Royals. 

On Monday, UNC students voted for who they wanted to see crowned at halftime during the homecoming game this weekend. this year there are 5 candidates:

Brittany Blitstein is a biochemistry major and, if crowned wants to create a workshop for students to combat and prevent harassment on campus.

Tyler Clayton  is an economics major and, if crowned wants to provide relief to low-income families and fight housing inequity

La-Ontra Bacon is a psychology and sociology double major and, if crowned wants to create a therapy fund for students as well as a high school mental health initiative.

Whitney Noble is a nursing major and, if crowned, wants to harvest produce to give it to families in need.

Jamal smith is an exercise and sports science major and, if crowned, wants to provide resources and encouragement for African-American males to apply and attend college.
