CHAPEL HILL, NC – Chancellor Kevin Guskiewicz announced late last week that Jennifer Conrad, a distinguished professor of finance, will serve as interim dean for the UNC Kenan Flagler business school effective September 22.
The announcement came just days after Doug Shackelford, the school’s dean of eight years, abruptly announced he would retire on September 19.
Conrad, who has been on the b-school’s faculty since 1985, served as senior associate dean for academic affairs between 2011 to 2016.
During Conrad’s interim leadership, the business school continues to conduct a search for a permanent dean.
