As many of you now know, on April 27th we lost a beloved member of our student community, rising sophomore Patrick Luc Nixon. Patrick was a member of our Development Committee, where his hard work, positivity, and insights were greatly valued. We wanted to share some memories and words from members of our Executive Board who worked with Patrick:
From 2019-2020 Co-Director of Development, Fariha Rahman: “I had the opportunity to work with Patrick this past year, and I’ve never met someone who embodied positivity like he did. I’ll miss our interactions, and most importantly his smile. I’ll always remember him with a smile.”
From current Co-Director of Development, Shiv Bhargava: “Patrick was an amazing addition to the Development Committee this past year. His incredible work ethic, positive attitude, and kind spirit shined through in his work at the Y. He was a fierce advocate for social justice, and he will truly be missed by the Campus Y community.”
In addition to being a Campus Y member, Patrick was active in Student Government and Camp Kesem UNC. His friends and loved ones speak of his kind, loving, and genuine nature. We understand that many of you knew Patrick as a member of our community, worked with him, and were friends with him.
