Business Proposal: Social Emotional Learing Program

In EDUC 790: Business of Education, I was introduced to intensive exploration and discussion of selected topics in education. This is the foundation for my final project of designing a program and action to call for investment.

My project is about an exclusice SEL for Archimedes Academy in Hanoi, Vietnam where I worked in 2021. Applying empathy map in another course, EDUC 767: Educational Innovation and Technology, Integrative Seminar I, I designed “Words of Encouragement” to show the needs for SEL for AAH’s students and how promissing my solution can be.

Thanks to weekly groups discussion about different case study of education business in EDUC 790, I gains various insights and applied that in designing the offering for my SEL solution.

AR-enhanced Children Book

This project is about creating a children book enhanced by AR to bring new experience for elementary education. My team and I designed a story about the journey of a colorless paintbrush, Bella, finding her true color regardless of challenges and discouragement.

Using cutting-edge graphic design tools and AI, we’ve crafted a world where characters leap off the pages, engaging young minds with interactive magic. This tech-infused marvel seamlessly blends education with entertainment, offering an intuitive interface for even the littlest readers. Unlock the future of storytelling as children explore 3D wonders and unlock hidden surprises through their devices.

UNC School of Social Work

For the Fall semester at University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, I was given the oportunity to intern at UNC School of Socail Work, assisting my supervisor, Dr. Stefanie Panke who is the digital pedagogy at UNC SSW.

This year, UNC SSW first launch an online Master program of Social Work which requires huge preparation not only for the students but also the faculty.

The Design Thinking Process

Driven by a passion for education and a desire to empower educators and learners, I recently embarked on a transformative journey through the world of educational technology. This course delved deep into the exciting realm of EdTech, equipping me with the tools and knowledge necessary to leverage technology for impactful learning experiences.

Overview

I sharpened my ability to critically analyze the current landscape of education, pinpointing areas where technology can bridge gaps and enhance learning outcomes.

Empathy

 Through user research and scenario building, I developed a keen understanding of the needs, pain points, and aspirations of different stakeholders.

Define

Personas go beyond demographics, providing a detailed picture of your target audience’s thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. This allows me to better understand their needs, goals, and motivations, leading to more relevant and impactful solutions.

Ideation

Armed with empathy and knowledge, I embarked on a brainstorming process, generating a multitude of creative ideas for educational ventures.

Prototype

Bringing my ideas to life, I prototyped my solution to refine and iterate on my designs. This is the storyboard of my prototype. Also, I created a website to enhance its experience. https://tarheels.live/writee/

Marketing Intern at Archimedes School in Hanoi

● Organized the 10th year anniversary, attended by over 4,000 guests (parents, alumni, government officials,

Prior Education

During my time at ULIS, I acquired knowledge in all parts of language, notably phonetics and pragmatics. These factors facilitated the development of ESL courses and the modification of teaching methodologies to enhance students’ comprehension and retention of teachings, rather than mere rote memorization.

Furthermore, my exposure to translation and interpretation courses has afforded me a multitude of opportunities to engage with bilingual career, supported by immersive simulation exercises and unpaid internships conducted inside the academic setting.

Career Goal

My professional goal is to provide a technology-enhanced, comprehensive approach to education in Vietnam. I want to change the fact that Vietnamese students receive rigorous instruction but little assistance with their growth outside of the classroom.

My Journey at MEITE

I’m currently enrolled in UNC at Chaple Hill’s MEITE program on the Innovative Officer track. I now have practical innovation skills thanks to the Design Thinking exercises, and I can’t wait to find out how new technologies like AI will impact people’s lives. In addition, the Business of Education has expanded my understanding of the business aspects of the education sector, which I consider will be extremely beneficial for my future leadership endeavors. Most significantly, I am studying a novel facet of the educational system to support youth development, a social-emotional problem that is often overlooked in my country, Vietnam.

After Graduation

I want to work for an edTech business or an innovation department once I graduate from MEITE to get more hands-on experience integrating technology into the classroom. When my OPT ends, I’ll go back to Vietnam and use what I’ve learned to make Archimedes School Education System in Hanoi, where I have been offered a position, the best K–12 institution in the country.
